Park Ward Outreach

We have appointed an outreach worker to connect with local organisations, schools, centres, as well as knocking on doors around the streets of Park Ward. Her aim will be to connect local residents to the many CRF projects that are available as well as to their local community provision of a well-being café at the Bridge Community Venue.

ESOL

Lincoln City Foundation are running a free English course to help non-English speakers improve their language skills to help improve social wellbeing, find employment and new opportunities. This is a formal structured course that takes place over an 18 week period. The course started in February and is now fully booked.

Extra Time Hub

Lincoln City Foundation runs an Extra Time Hub for retired/semi retired people over the age of 55. Our central hub provides social activities with the chance to catch up over a cup of tea and biscuits, as well as a chance to try different activities and sports. We vary activities each week and include quizzes, bingo, boccia, new age kurling, carpet bowls and seated exercises. Thanks to funding from the CRF we were able to fund printed activity packs to residents for who getting out the house may be a struggle. This allows them to keep their brain engaged and still feel part of our community.

Unmasked Mental Health

Thanks to funding from the CRF Lincoln City Foundation were able to support Unmasked Mental Health in opening a new hub at the LNER Stadium as part of their Team Talk project. Unmasked Mental Health Support Groups are for anyone who is experiencing emotional distress. People are free to talk about their own mental health – or not: the support group gives space to make that choice. The groups are informal and relaxed. They are ‘peer support’ groups (meaning people get support from each other), not therapy groups, although, for some, they may have a therapeutic benefit. All groups are led by a facilitator or co-facilitators whose role is to encourage the group to develop and flourish in a safe, non-judgemental and inclusive way.
They are free and open to anyone over the age of 16. The hub is open every Thursday from 7pm-9pm in the Community Hub under the Co-op stand at the LNER Stadium.
